Abstract

The present study observes the manifestation of the intercultural competence in relation to the communicative competence in the linguistic tandem, and is based on the analysis of the level B2 worksheet entitled Maladies, superstitions et croyances [Diseases, superstitions and beliefs]. The paper focuses on the perspective from which cultural aspects were presented by the students – as insiders or outsiders – as well as on how they defined themselves in relation to the cultural universe they described and how they negotiated meaning within the conversational context.
