Echocardiographic Images Database for Research and Teaching Purposes. Note I: Database Design
Abstract
This paper aims to present an echocardiographic images database for teaching and research purposes. The main idea is to introduce a formalised medical image description methodology. According to this methodology, the patient study images are described in terms of anatomic structures and their features. In this way it is facilitated the retrieval of relevant images using the features as search keywords. A database containing relevant images and the associated qualifying information, allows carrying out teaching, learning, self-evaluation, evaluation and research processes.
