Abstract

Bronchial Asthma (BA) associates frequently with other allergies. We followed the frequency distribution of allergyc rhinitis, urticaria, eczema and conjunctivitis in 90 patients with BA. The whole group has been split in group A and B by the type of the BA inheritance polygenicly dominant or recessive. We studied the association of these allergies in these patients through Chi-square test. The conclusions are that urticaria is the most frequent followed by rhinitis whereas conjunctivitis is the least frequent. There are statistically significant associations of rhinitis-urticaria and rhinitis-conjunctivitis in group B possibly due to different expressivity of genes between the two groups.
