Abstract

Bioknoppix is a customized distribution of Linux Operating System. It offers a number of computer programs to work in bioinformatics field, free of charge. Bioknoppix is designed to be booted from a CD, and to have a fully functional Linux Operating System with open source computer programs targeted for the molecular biologist. It’s ideal for demonstrations, life sciences students, and workshops. Bioknoppix can be installed on the computer and can be used on a regular basis like any other Operating System by molecular biologists.
