Computer Program to Assist in Analyzing Survival Data

Abstract

Survival analysis is a collection of statistical procedures for data analysis, for which the outcome variable of interest is the time until an event occurs. Survival analysis is not an easy thing to do because of the complexity of this domain. The aim of this paper was to create a computer program to help guiding the researchers in analyzing survival data. The computer program was created using appropriate informatics tools. The documentation for the information it provides was taken from statistics and research methodology papers. The computer program provides help in: creating and processing a database with survival data, representing survival data, comparing survival data, identifying prognostic indicators in survival analysis, choosing the right statistical software for analyzing survival data. The computer program resides on an Internet web server. The computer program can be accessed from anywhere on the Internet, with the help of an Internet web browser.
