Abstract

The aim of this study is to evaluate the trend and seasonality for antiulcer drugs and to compare the future consumption for the proton pump inhibitors and H2 receptor antagonists on Romanian market. The processing of the data was performed with ITSM  2000, a special soft for compute the forecasting. In this study was used the ARMA methodology, who provide some of the most accurate methods of the forecast. The results of the study show us that the consumption of the proton pump inhibitors have a seasonal behavior and an increasing trend; H2 receptor antagonists have an increasing trend but a constant behavior along the year. H2 receptor antagonists will remain in the next year the first choice in the patients and doctors’ option for gastro-intestinal disorders.
