Keywords:
Chronic marginal periodontitis, Tetracycline, Pocket depth.Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to reveal the influence of some parameters (pocket depth, sex, age) on the treatment efficiency of the patients with chronic marginal periodontitis. Periodontal disease is in continuous growing around the world. A number of 83 patients with chronic periodontitis were studied. Data was gathered using patient charts and patient follow up. The main results of the paper refer to: patients included 45 males and 38 females; 57 had urban place of residence; the mean age was 50.04 years; patients were treated with tetracycline-methronidazole paste; the pocket depth decreased on the vestibular surface from 2.42 to 1.06 mm; on the mesial surface from 2.25 mm to 0.83 mm; on the distal surface from 1.25 to 0.39 mm; on the vestibular surface from 2.03 to 0.95 mm. In conclusion, treatment of chronic marginal periodontitis with tetracycline-methronidazole paste decreases pocket depth.
