A New Algorithm for Object Segmentation in Noisy Ultrasound Images

Abstract


The paper focuses on a new method for contour approximation that can provide improved accuracy even in the case when the input image is strongly affected by stationary noise that causes false contour fragments. Some classic segmentation techniques are also briefly described in order to emphasize the advantages of our method.
