Abstract

The paper presents a short introduction to the field of three-dimensional medical imaging together with methods and algorithms considerations. It also presents an applied method for surface reconstruction by triangulation from rotated planar contours, which where called by the author meridian planar contours, a discussion of the benefits and drawbacks of the two basic methods used in 3D medical imaging parallel and meridian sections an some of the results obtained by a PC based system for 3D medical imaging using ultrasonic medical images.
