Abstract

Biological factors in hospital environment may become risk factors for the health of the in-patients and of the medical staff. The determination of the microbial flora of a surface is done with the purpose of discovering the potential of disease spread, an increased density of germs is the proof that the sanitary conditions are unfit. The research has been conducted between 2003 and 2005, the microbial contamination involving mostly the following germs: Colibacillus, Staphylococcus, B. Piocianic. The results of the research have showed the following: an increase in the contamination of the surfaces with Colibacillus and Staphylococci; the appearance in 2005 in surface contamination of Piocianic bacteria; there was no contamination of B. Proteus, Klebsiella or B. Cereus. As a conclusion, the study emphasizes the existence of unfit medical conditions in sleeping areas, the intensification of the measures of fighting and prophylaxis of the air and surfaces.
