Abstract

The paper presents an experimental model and the measurements performed on it, in order to estimate a pattern of periodontal pressure distribution under various levels of orthodontic load. Graphic representation of experimental measurements revealed a nonlinear behavior of periodontal pressure with increasing orthodontic forces. The measured pressure pattern will serve as validation data for a mathematical model, previously developed for the simulation of orthodontic tipping in single rooted teeth.

Keywords: Periodontal pressure; Orthodontic force; Experimental model.
